It’s back! ‘My Las Vegas’ storytelling

storytellingEveryone loves a good story and great storytellers. We are pleased to announce the return of bilingual master storytellers Liz Mangual and Bob Kanegis (of StoryConnection) this September.

Last year Liz and Bob collaborated with the Neon Museum’s Education staff to create a one-of-a-kind experience for three local Title 1 elementary schools, where they shared traditional tales of the Southwest while teaching about designer Raul Rodriguez, who created the Flamingo sign now in the Museum’s collection.

This fall, during Hispanic Heritage Month, Liz and Bob be visiting three new schools in Clark County: Hewetson, CP Squires and Lunt Elementary Schools. The Neon Museum’s elementary level math/geometry lesson plan also is incorporated into the program.  In addition, students and teachers from these schools also have been invited to tour the Neon Boneyard in the spring.

This is a great collaboration as we contribute to educating today’s students about our glowing past.
