Vice President of Construction
Gayle Porterfield serves as Vice President of Construction for Cox Communications in Las Vegas, with responsibility for maintaining, upgrading and expanding Cox’s current multi-million-dollar fiber-optic network. She also leads, trains and motivates a team of 153 dedicated employees which design and build the network serving all of Cox’s business and residential customers in Southern Nevada.
Her Las Vegas position was created as a result of continued growth in the company’s Southwest Region, which encompasses Nevada and Arizona. Porterfield focuses on residential and commercial activity in Southern Nevada. Her responsibilities include, among others, short and long-term strategies that support network construction and expansion, budgeting, cost management, regulation compliance, safety, vendor relationships and performance goals.
A 31-year telecommunications industry expert, Porterfield has extensive career experience as an engineer, designer, project manager and quality control leader. She has served in numerous positions with Cox in various leadership positions over the last two decades. including recently as Director of Order Fulfillment and Sales Support. During her tenure at Cox, she has been involved in project management, service delivery, building access, customer care and quality control.
Porterfield is a military veteran and has five years of active duty service in the United States Air Force and seven years of reserve duty in the Air National Guard. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
Porterfield moved to Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve of 2018; prior to that, she lived in Phoenix AZ for 24 years.
