Jennifer Kleven is a life-long Las Vegan committed to expanding access to arts and culture for under-resourced local communities. Her love of art and community was honed at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she received a BFA in Art. Upon graduation in 2009, she opened a gallery in the former Emergency Arts building on Fremont Street, and exhibited local, national and international artists.

Kleven joined the Museum in 2010 as a volunteer, but was hired in preparation for its public opening. She’s held roles in membership and grant writing and is now responsible for achieving the Museum’s philanthropic goals. Currently, she is President of the Nevada Museums Association, vice-chair of the City of Las Vegas Arts Commission, and a grant reviewer for the National Endowment for the Arts and other agencies. In her spare time, she enjoys curating exhibits and workshops as part of GULCH Collective, gardening, creating ceramic art, getting outdoors and visiting museums. She was the 2018 recipient of the WESTAF Emerging Leader of Color award for Nevada.
