NEON MUSEUM ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR SCHEDULE

For the First Time Ever, Museum to Offer Evening Tours of the Famous Neon Boneyard

It’s no secret—Las Vegas summers are scorchers. That’s why the Neon Museum will introduce adjusted summer hours and brand-new evening tours of its open-air Neon Boneyard exhibition area beginning May 24. 

New, colorful up-lighting is being installed throughout the Neon Boneyard, dramatically illuminating the iconic signs in the museum’s collection. While most of the signs themselves are not electrified, the new custom-designed lighting will showcase them beautifully. The new lighting will make evening tours an attractive option for those who want not only to escape the heat of day, but also want to experience the signs from a dazzling new perspective.

NEON MUSEUM TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY OF MOULIN ROUGE WITH SPECIAL PROGRAM, THURSDAY, MAY 23

On Thursday, May 23, the Neon Museum will host a special program commemorating the 58th anniversary of the opening of Las Vegas’ famed Moulin Rouge casino. The Moulin Rouge sign, designed by Betty Willis, is one of more than 150 neon signs preserved and viewed by thousands of visitors each year in the Neon Museum’s Neon Boneyard exhibition area.

NEON MUSEUM TO HOST OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEERS SATURDAY, APRIL 27

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and the Neon Museum invites members of the public to consider joining its dynamic roster of volunteers at an informational open house on Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. Interested individuals visiting the museum’s world-renowned Neon Boneyard can talk to current staff and volunteers and learn about the different volunteer positions available.

NEVADA CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S OUTDOOR BILL OF RIGHTS

Children and families are invited to participate in outdoors learning and recreation events throughout the month of April.

In 2012 the Governor of Nevada issued a proclamation designating April as Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights Month. This year, the Outside Las Vegas Foundation is promoting a series of events in April that offer children and families opportunities to connect with nature through educational programs and recreational events. The Outside Las Vegas Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping southern Nevadans and visitors to Las Vegas experience the outdoors.
